I'm not a collector, but I have run into a type that you might not
have seen... oriental rug mousepads. There's the Mouse Rug, but
that's a fake -- just an oriental pattern printed on a plain old
mousepad. But there are also woven rug type pads, which are far
nicer.
I got mine from
