I just did a google search to try and see what a Bell
205 modem looks like and/or how it was used. They have impressive main rotors on top.
But seriously, I failed to find anything about them. What are they? What do they look
like? Can they be used on POTS lines?
They are 23 inch rackmount monsters from 1966 or so. I think they are
2400 Baud. A Bell System friend says these were typically used by
various government agencies with crypto boxes (so yes, maybe rotors).
