I've had the same discussion with people down here
who were drilling holes
in drives. Given enough time and effort, a large amount of data can still
be extracted from those tortured drives.
Wasn't there some discussion a while back about sand-blasting the oxide
off?
Wouldn't it be almost as effective to store it in a high-Zuse format and
then wait until all of the old farts who understand the system die off?
