819, but proposed but not deployed. SECAM-L used in France was 625
lines, like PAL. Variants of SECAM were also deployed in various
Warsaw Block countries, including the DDR and some parts of Africa.
Although color resolution is lower than NTSC, overall picture quality
and relative immunity to transmission disturbances is superior to
PAL.
