The answer in my case is "nothing". Neither the CPU nor the memory do
anything on the CD fingers except connect the grant lines. They work just
fine in the Q22/CD slots.
As a final check, I did have a friend go spelunking in his own 23+ to see if
his CPU and memory were in Q22/CD slots. They were, and the jumpers were
indeed in.
