Tonight I made up an "adapter" from a socket as per Dwight's
recommendation,
wiring it as Pete suggested. I tested the faulty ROM chip and a good one.
Perfect! The faulty IC was all zeros and the good one contained code, just
as I had seen in the Sorcerer itself.
Diagnosis verified. Now to just wait for the EPROMs to arrive!
When you've programmed the EPROM, you'll probably need to reconfigure the
jumper links for that socket on the ROM PAC PCB. They're shown on the
schematic in the technical manual, let us know id you need help whith how
to set them.
