You might investigate getting some rubber stamp pad
ink and apply it to
your dry ribbon. The old "Mac Inker" was a rig with a felt pad with a
reservoir that spread ink onto your slowly-moving ribbon. Motive power
was a small geared down (perhaps 4 RPM) synchronous motor.
And there were clones of this machine everywhere, even in Brazil! ;o)
