HP 9000 "Nova" I-class systems

The system came with no hard drives, no media, and the 4mm tape and CD-ROM were disconnected from the SCSI chain. I was able to get the thing put back together, and I finally got a copy of HP-UX 11.0, but when I try to boot off the CD (boot 52.2.0.0), it says "Bad LIF magic." I'm told this means the media is not bootable.
