Define "good enough"?
"Good enough" means protect the board from the moment it gets put into
the bag until the point when the user removes it.
My point was, for the $2300.00 asking price, they
could at least use a
higher quality ESD bag for the board.
Doing so would be a waste of money. For all we know, the guy's uncle
owns a pink ESD bag factory, or maybe he just had them on hand.
In the real world, electronics manufacturers use the mylar bags when
the products are likely to be handled by the semi-skilled labor
typically found on the factory floor, and the pink bags when the
products are done and out of danger. They do this because just one of
those laborers in the ESD sensitive area can make a huge mess of
things for a long time. Now maybe this Apple 1 replica guy actually
knows how to handle things in an ESD safe manner, so figured he could
use the pink stuff (and of course we are also assuming that he is
using the cheap everyday pink stuff, and not the milspec expensive
stuff).
