You've also got the issue of date codes on IC's to deal with. And not many
40-pin DIPs are still made the same way as original 8080A's, i.e.
white ceramic with a gold cap.
I was thinking more along the lines of maybe using the vital organs out of
an Apple II and running emulation on it. Apple II machines are readily
available, so parts would be no problem. You know, something like a kit
car. All the style and looks of a roadster, but with a more modern
volkswagen engine. :)
