Okay, to settle the claims of fluorescent lamps having a longer life
than incandescents, what's the longest that a fluorescent lamp has
ever been in constant operation?
As a benchmark, I don't know if it's still there, but I believe that
the Livermore, CA fire station had an incandescent lamp in more-or-
less continuous service for about 100 years.
