A plain audio copy (tape-to-tape) should be fine--the format of these
things is fairly well documented, so there's no mystery. You might,
however, make a copy of the tape using a 5150 to read it and save the data
in each tape block as a file (since there's no standard for saving 5150
tapes that I know of).
With the data, the original tape can easily be recreated, if desired.
