Whereas I will not disagree, AFAIK the
"keyboard" of the Atari 400 was
a near-identical membrane type:

AFAIK, the 400 keyboard had an "indentation" (a "bump") around the
keys,
so you could at least locate where your fingers are :o)
The ZX81 had nothing. A plain sheet of plastic and nothing else. :o(
