Call it idle speculation, but what's the highest speed a
consumer-grade audio modem can manage over VoIP, state of the art or
otherwise? Has anyone tried this?
You probably won't get _that_ much since I'm pretty sure the compression
algorithms use tricks like psychoacoustic models (hello, mp3) which aren't
going to be so good with modems.
