Given Google's success and roots, I'd say this is a good
thing. I bet a doughnut they extend the archives deeper
into the past.
They've promised exactly that; they bought the whole thing, and
<URL:http://www.google.com/press/pressrel/pressrelease48.html> notes
that they're bringing the whole thing online, in the first couple of
paragraphs. Indexing a few terabytes of data seems an excusable reason
to not have it ready right away :-)
