I was gonna say "fortunately there's more to the Internet than web
browsing", but then I suppose for most people that's just not the case.
Indeed most nontechnical people nowadays have no idea of how a computer could
be useful without a web browser, or without an Internet connection.
"How do you click on links?" was a question I got from a young person (but
not a child) at VCF-East last year, while he was going "oooh ahhh" over my
PDP-11.
