Read it enviously. Bell Labs, as it was, certainly
seems like the best
place in the world to work in.
It was not. The Bell Labs old timers I meet mostly universally say
office politics, backstabbing, and competition were intense at the
Labs. Plus, all that fun Bell System red tape.
