At least by waiting for them to
post feedback, you know they've received the item and are (usually)
happy with it.
As primarily a buyer, however, this is lousy. This means that if you don't
like what you get from a seller, you are virtually guaranteed to get negative
feedback from an unscrupulous one if you are forced to act first.
As far as I'm concerned, good feedback from a buyer should be awarded when
the money is sent promptly, and when I sell items, that is the rule I use
regardless of what the buyer says about me afterwards. When sellers won't do
this for me, I won't leave positive feedback for them either.
