Or not being able to read the color codes on
6-dot mica capacitors.
Not for nothing, but NOBODY could read the dotted color codes on older
capacitors. There was a standard, but pretty much none of the
manufacturers stuck to it. The best anyone could hope for was to find
two of the dots that looked reasonable (for example, a blue and a grey
next to each other), and go from there. Then punt.
