There are a number of NIB PCMCIA 3.5" floppy drives on eBay now, generally
$10 or less. Just search for "PCMCIA Floppy Drives". I don't know if they
can be converted for use with a 5.25" drive, though.

At the expense of stating the obvious, there's always the
MicroSolutions 5.25 Backpack drive, if your laptop has a parallel
printer port. But they're getting hard to find.
