(Sorry - English linguistic humor. Calling someone a "ham" generally
means someone (often an actor) who just LOVES attention.)
I'm currently re-reading a book on clock repairing [1] by a chap called Eric
Smith (not our Eric Smith AFAIK). In said book he talks about the
'Horological Ham;', who seems to be the equivalent to old clocks as most
of us are to old computers :-)
