If it takes an MIO JetDirect card (the common one for LaserJet 5 and
older printers, maybe 6 also), you should be able to get a new card for
$5 or less.

Brian, AFAIK the jetdirect cards does not need
any software, at
least for 98/xp computers. Does it creates a new menu on your
printer? If you print a test page it makes any references to the
network controller, with configurations, et al?
No new menus. Nothing on the test page. I'd think it was broken,
but it does light up when you plug in the network cable.
