Personally, I think it's a cool chip, much cooler
than the 8250/16450/16550
Hate 8250 and friends. I'd use S2681 before using an 8250. I do use a
lot of 8251s (of part for async). The NEC D7201, Z80-SIO and the SCC
however are majorly nice, though complex chips to use. All are fast.
I consider the use of the 8250 and clones on PCs to a be a significant
limitor of good comm performance.
