Sure they do. If there is no assembly language code
that prints
characters, then how exactly does the BASIC interpreter do it?
I said PRINT statement, Jeff. I know for crertain that there is no PRINT
mnemonic in either 6809 or 6502 assembly. I've heard that Intel processors
have rather advanced string manipulation features, but I haven't delved
farther into that architecture and probably never will. =)
