Wasn't LVM one of the OSF/1 technologies that IBM were developing? I
seem to recall that
the various members of the OSF/1 consortium (IBM, DEC, HP?, ???) were
each assigned a
technology section, but I can't recall who all the members were and
which bit each contributed.
I do recall that Digital ended up being the only member :-)
