Well, I figured out that problem (mount mua0: /foreign

but after cleaning the drive, just about every tape I try give me a parity
error within 50k or so of the beginning of the tape. Is there a
recommended way to clean the tape drive? I just stuck some alcohol on a
cotton swap and brushed that along the drive head a few times...
O.K. you figured the block size out. Are you saying you can
*read* more than 50k from a tape but you cannot write as much?
You could always have a more severe problem with the transport,
I hope you don't, but if cleaning doesn't help, I would be rather
lost at this point.
good luck,
