I'm sure someone's mentioned it already but
you can still get the IBM Model
M brand-new, in USB variants, even!!

I have one of the UNICOMP keyboards. In fact I have a slightly older
(seven years I think I've had it) PC/5250 version. PS/2 not USB, beige
and very much not at all matching my current desktop (black tower,
black mouse, black monitor, black speakers, black desk... beige
keyboard).
The thing is, if you will pardon my swearing: FUCKING FANTASTIC.
I have a vision problem, so the normal cheap as sin, made in China for
fifteen cents keyboards a really not something I can work with
reliably, tactile and auditory feedback being very important to me. My
122-key Model M is pretty much the only keyboard I can actually get up
to my full typing speed (and low error rate) on.
I keep feeling tempted to requisition one at work but
haven't worked up the
gumption to ask for a $100 keyboard yet, LOL.
Get one for yourself. They do customization on almost everything, and
reasonably too. I think the only thing they might not do is specially
labeled key caps.
Cheers,
Christian
P.S. I have nothing in any way to do with UNICOMP, I am just a very
satisfied customer.
