My thought was that if you couldn't simply connect the +12 supply line
to +5 for the entire board, you could at least locate the supply trace
for the DRAM array, cut it, and wire it to +5. It's unlikely to be
hooked to a buried PCB plane.
FWIW, I thought the price wasn't bad for NOS low-power devices.
