A couple of years ago the police here raided a colleague's house because
the police helicopter's IR cameras showed the house as emitting a lot of
energy, and that's a sign of cannabis farms. In fact, rather
embarrassingly, it was just a case of poor insulation.
I doubt the DEA's choppers are actually looking for visible light --
just "bright" infrared emission.
