Right. Which is exactly what I did. I just bought the part and an
SMT to SIP adapter and built it on Vector board. I referred to the
eval kit so that folks who don't want to do that level of circuit work,
with an SMT part, can just hook up to the eval card.
My mistake for implying that the eval card was neccessary.
The LMH1980 is the successor to the LM1881.
The seperate sync signals are available inside the VT240 too, so if
someone were to modify the terminal and bring those signals out some
other way, the sync seperator would not be needed.
