Is there any
way to connect 13W3 output of GXP550P (graphics card
in RS/6000 p43) to 13W3 SGI monitor (GDM-20E21)? In order to connect
SPARCstation I had to make a little modification of the SS2 to make
it generate sync-on-green signal. Will the same modification work
with IBM?
Most likely not as the Sun generates C-Sync. The IBM machine generates
either Sync on Green or separate H/V-Sync. Just try. Connect the
RGB-leads and wait to get a picture. If you get one, the IBM does Sync
on green and you are done. If not it does separate H/V-Sync. In that
case you have to build a custom cable. Google for pinouts.
