Probably, but that would likely get someone upset at you if the result
were to achieve wide distribution.
If you do that, why not just save yourself the trouble
of writing the
code in the first place?
Sometimes hardware costs - either primary (eg the chip) or secondary
(eg board space, power draw) outweigh software costs.
