Well, with our massive population explosion, the idea of "repeat
customers" is much less of a concern.

Occasionally when I've complained about poor service or quality, I've been told
just that and in so many words: "There are another hundred customers outside my door.
Why should I care?"
One time I was told that at a restaurant that had been in business for 23 years (in
response to a complaint of poor service). They closed three months later.... -- Ian
