For example, in the PDP-1 restoration, we went to
great pains to reform the
original capacitors, using a grossly over-engineered technique, and to
document every aspect of this process (and of the entire restoration).
Has there been any thought about installing some sort of non-invasive,
reversible monitoring circuitry to the PDP-1 (or other operating
artifacts)? Perhaps a circuit to watch the ripple or leakage in the
capacitors, and shut down the machine if and danger is sensed?
