Actually, I'll be giving the 4/330 a final try tomorrow with much of the
serial hardware isolated. If it still screws up, then it's the custom
buffer chip at fault and we definitely need a replacement board (or
buffer IC - it's possible that the same chip was used on other very
early SPARC machines)
