I used the 7207-012 with mine successfully, they pop up on eBay. Not sure
how critical the cable is on the P03 side, but due to the physical design
on the tape drive side only limited cable options fit the deeply recessed
connector design on the back of the tape drive.
I would be keen to have another P03 if anyone has one surplus.
Well, I used a
7202-001 and a 7206-005, with no luck, as external
drives.
Then I tried a lot of internal drives.
Same result: the tape is unsupported.
But something is still unclear to me:
1) External tape drives must be ID #0 ?
2) Internal tape drives must be ID #1 ?
Since the SCSI connector on the back of the P03 is SCSI-68, connecting
to a Centronics-50 unit, I have to use some special cable?
I use a some adapter in the middle (SCSI3 to SCSI2, SCSI2 to
centronics), but I must rely on the 7202-001 or 7206-005 internal
termination. Someone told me that the Centronics-50 internal termination
it's not enough, because all 68 lines must be terminated, so the cable
it's critical...
Thanks!
