I'm pretty certain that it's plain old C260 cartridge brass. It will
chatter and chip like crazy if you try machining it using a carbide
cutter. FWIW, around here, the K&S is the easiest to obtain thinwall
tube (0.014' wall). I've made French horn crooks from it and it
cold-works very nicely.
