Tektronix already had 180hz crt's for the
head-mounted VR displays in the
usaf flight sims 20 yrs ago, EX100HD. It was only 1", specifically for VR
systems, but still fast enough.
Driving a 1" CRT is child's play compared to driving a real tube.
Still, I bet it was an impressive system.
