for a very inexpensive AT/PS/2 converter to XT using an 8 pin PIC MCU.
It's so simple that it can be constructed on a small piece of perf
board, but PCBs may still yet be available.
A lot of keyboards could auto-switch between the two protocols. It
usually starts with the keyboard sending a bunch of PS/2 NAKs. If the
host doesn't respond, XT mode is assumed.
The keyboard that I used for many years was a made-in-Germany NCR
Cherry-switch model. 30 function keys, but no F11 or F12. Otherwise,
very nice.
