I've tried this procedure and it worked for me. (I don't know about you,
but I have fewer 4116s than I need, and lots of 4164s lying around.)
There should be no need for disfuguring an original
board in order to make a
part foreign to its design work in place of what belongs there.
You don't have to disfugure a board to convert a 4164 to work as a 4116.
