yeah, I can't stand HTML index type documents, drives me crazy.
and if there's v5 that would be the best one I'd want. not sure what my near-grey
wall has.
so where can I find this CONOLD CD?

HP apparently have one that's been running since V6.0:

If you want earlier then the V5 stuff is available electronically
on the CONOLD CDs, mostly in BookReader format (I expect that
there's a converter/reader kicking around by now).
V4 and earlier will indeed need a scanner.
