I don't know what status you would get if it has not been low level
formatted, but it won't just work without formatting it first.
Yes, I thought about that after I sent the email. It is "random" in that I
don't know how it was formatted, but I thought it would show Online and
perhaps fail to mount if not suitably formatted. I will have to get my
MicroVAX 2000 out and format it. I seem to remember someone posting about
formatting parameters, I will see if I can find the info.
