The Inmos Transputer's current descendant is the XMOS XS-1 microcontroller.
Very very cool CPUs -- the base instruction set is unpleasant (looks like what
simple-minded C compilers put out) but the event-handling and hyperthreading
architecture kicks much ass. Cheap at
digikey.com.
