I have a thingie here called a DEC-VT12, from 1982.
It's a Termiflex with two-line LED alphanumeric display,
about 2.5x the size of a cellphone.
I can put up a picture for those interested.
And I have something that sounds a lot like it, called the TC200,
with the Digital brand on it. Check out the picture on my web
