The pink bags actually aren't as conductive as the
metalized mylar bags and
are not rated for the same level of ESD protection. The pink bags also break
down chemically over time (which anyone who has witnessed this also knows
that they smell really, really bad when they do this). On the other hand,
the mylar bags last practically forever.
They do not have to be as good as the mylar ones (unless you pay for
the really good pink ones, which are pretty expensive). Why waste the
money when the protection will be good enough for the job at hand?
