I tend to agree with Jim here on the practicalities of transferring
documents from paper to an electronic form.
Some assessment and decision to alter the original condition of the
paper version probably needs to be made dependent on the value of the
paper version against the value of the information represented on the
paper. And if the original paper was that valuable, the investment in
acid free paper, climate controlled conditions etc to preserve the
original would also be under discussion.
