Speaking of melting, my oven meltdown last summer is what spurred
me to do a complete kitchen remodel. Seems the original owner had
done his own wiring, used #10 wire on the 40A oven circuit.
Naturally, when the oven went the wiring melted, breaker never
tripped. Whats really amazing is that it lasted over 2 decades.
