Unless that motor changes speed, I would think the controller would be
simplistic, and thus the issue is the motor itself.
So, sticktion does not appear to be the issue.
Actually that does sound like stiction. On many drives, if the motor
doesn't reach the correct speed quickly enough, the motor control
electronics will stop it. IIRC that's just what an ST225 does.
