Hmm... I'm sure it would work in moderately humid environments, but
wet ones would lead to moldy rice, I'd wager.
Here in the midwest, though, I'd be much more worried it would attract
more mice/rats than just an empty box would. :-/
Silica gel can be recycled by heating in an oven.
