Keith, the "$100 hamburger" is kind of a joke. People with fresh
pilots'
licenses tend to make short hops in order to build hours - they typically
fly off to a field within roughly 50 or 100 miles of their home airfield
and have lunch. When you add up the aircraft rental and fuel, you've paid
about $100 (or more) to go get a hamburger. :)
